I've got my first Burberry..
[info]nuninoo_yeu
It's still unbelievable to me. Yes.. it's a gift from my sweetest hubby, who's very much proud of himself :). Carrying huge burberry shopping bag as seen in the photo with my happy face, all the way home. We're home and I sat down on my couch, with my hubby watching Channelnewsasia (as usual), i asked him:

" How did u feel?"
He said " i felt proud of myself and happy for you. How did you feel?"
"i can't describe it. I felt little guilty and was in doubt if i did something wrong haha " I said.

Well, i love the feeling of owning a burberry as i've always been a big fan of it. I love the design, and feeling burberry! It's the same feeling i had when i first got a burberry wallet from my sis and bro in law, as a thank you gift for nannying their kids while their away for weeks.
Now a bag..it's like a reunion!!

It's been a long time since my last post in 2010! and there i was sharing about moving away from Christchurch to Singapore. Here i am, in Singapore for 1 year 5 months now. Before starting my first blog today, i was figuring out my password, then my username .. so finally!!

Well, i sure missed a lot to share (or rant or complain) about my personal experience in life.

At this point, yes i am married to my best friend, whom i had been through so much with, on 31 Dec 2011, last year. Btw, everything can be connected via Facebook/google account/twitter..talk about the new age and now i'm talking about an outdated girl. What got me into reconnecting with blogging, was reading an interesting blog about a stranger, shared via fb. I've missed all these. I could tell since preparing for engagement, engagement, packing up (painful experience which got me into acne problems.. i think..blame on it so that i wouldn't think it's my problems), clearing up credit cards debts from relocation and left-overs of engagement's expenditure, starting a new urban life in Singapore (e.g. plan your trip ahead including walking, waiting for bus, walking to mrt station, waiting for mrt, walk to your destination etc), oh some more, planning our wedding in a year time, and *poof* a year and half nearly. How do i feel about that? honestly i can't conclude a simple answer for that. All i can say, i had a blast with some painful and joyful moments. I don want to brag a summary of my life for the last year and a half.

My resolution for the year:

1) Get my blogging back, look back at life and enjoy every ups and downs.
2) Admit i still haven't got a decent friend that i can really talk to
3) Enjoy working from home full time and being a housewife part time
4) Beautify my current blog

Gethsemane
[info]nuninoo_yeu

Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter."Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

Thank you for allowing to understand Jesus' sacrifice for me once again. Jesus journeyed into the deepest pit of despair hours before His cruxification. In Gethsemane, He repeatedly prayed that "the cup" would pass away (Matt26:36~). Jesus Christ did not just die for our sins; He became our sin ("God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." 2Cor5:21). Furthermore, Jesus knew the consequences of accepting mankind's evil. God's holiness prevented Him from being in the presence of sin. Therefore, the Father would have to separate Himself from the Son. Jesus had always enjoyed perfect oneness and relationship with God. To contemplate a wrenching rejection and separation must be terrifying. I cannot imagine the rejection from my own father or anyone who's dearest to me, imagine how terrifying how it would be for Jesus and our heavenly Father. In fact, Jesus would become sin and be separated from the Father, if that's what was required to save mankind. For a while in the garden, He pleaded for another route to our redemption. However when it was clear that the Father's answer was "No, this is the only way," Jesus obediently sacrficed Himself. Jesus Christ sacrificed more than His life. He exchanged perfection for wickedness and holy union for separation. The Saviour did this so we could be transformed into righteous men and women with an eternal future. No wonder all of heaven exalts him.

Understanding Jesus's three times prayers in Gethsemane before taking up His cross.
We knew that we have our own cross to bear, right in front. God understands we need guidance and the only way to reach it, is through prayers and pray in His will. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation". From the scriptures, we know God will respond in our prayers, when the time is rite, we have to get up and take up our cross, WITH Jesus. (v42 "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.").  Jesus's second prayer shows a response to heavenly Father's answer - a decision, an action to be carried out, a sacrifice to be made, a responsibility to be fullfilled. And the third time, Jesus said the same thing. The "cup" here refers to a symbol of deep sorrow and suffering. Here it refers to Father's face being turned away from Him when He had no sin was made sin (a sin offering).

I know what is to come in the future can be difficult, come to think about it, having to be separated from dear ones is the deepest sorrow and suffering. But if this is your will, Lord, may your will be done. Wherever i am, you're with me and i believe all things are possible in You and with You.

I'd like to end this with the song "Give thanks" to express my grateful heart to our heavenly Father, who has given Jesus Christ His son to all human race.
GIVE THANKS

Tomatoes bruschetta
[info]nuninoo_yeu
After my a hundred times of watching Julie/Julia, the most mouth-watering food i found is the tomato bruschetta or they call it "brusketa". Unfortunately i could not find any colourful heirloom tomatoes. Therefore, i used cherry tomatoes instead for its sweetness (im not a big fan of raw tomatoes myself). It turns out that it does taste sweeter with cherry tomatoes and u can avoid the mushy chopped tomatoes. Just cut them in quarterly pieces. If the cherry tomatoes u bought are rather small, just cut in half will do. After cutting all the tomatoes, in a bowl, mix them evenly with chopped basil leaves, some olive oil, ground black pepper, salt and sugar. Leave it aside and prepare the toast.

.....Heirloom tomatoes

....Cherry tomatoes

In my first trial, i bought a french long bread from Pak n Sav, which turned out to be a terrible one. I regretted it and i should've got a ciabatta instead, which i did today. Looking forward to try it with the fresh green olives and extra virgin olive oil tonight. Antipasti on the way! ^ . ^

Now, cut the bread in 3/4 inch thickness, rub each with garlic and fry it with olive oil until golden brown. Transfers these toast on a nice platter, scoop the tomatoes and have it sat nicely on the toast, as seen on the photo below. Drizzle with olive oil to decorate. and add flavour. Serve while hot. Don't let it sit there too long or else the toasts will get really soggy ( tomatoes will give out liquid in the presence of salt).

Enjoy and Bon appetite! =)

Moving ahead in the midst of uncertainty Part 2
[info]nuninoo_yeu
Forward by faith. Faith can be lulled to sleep when we are focused on our own comfort rather than God's plan. Abraham did not fall into this trap. He traded the familiar for the unknown and received many blessings. His call can come to us at any age and in any situation. Our call may not be as dramatic as Abraham's, David's, Paul's, but it will always involve moving forward by faith.

God warned me after moving ahead with His overflowing blessings to come, that all people on earth will be blessed through me. Abraham's initial call to leave his country was met with strong belief and immediate action. As a result, the Lord promised a great blessing for him and his descendant. But encountering famine brought different response from Abraham - a sojourn to Egypt, deception about his relationship with Sarah and chastisement from Pharoah. Our response to God's commands really matters. We can bring blessing or...heartache through our actions.

I hope when i received many blessings in all kind of ways, i won forget to use it for our good and also for His glory. I won't turn a blessing into a curse. God has mercy and protect me from sinning .

Obeying God can be uncomfortable. Those close to us may question our motives or disagree our decisions. And we ourselves may not want to do what He asks. But faith will keep us moving forward in obedience. It helps us stay the course and experience the blessings found in a relationship with Christ.

Moving ahead in the midst of uncertainty
[info]nuninoo_yeu
I paused and hesitated that the destination we're heading might not be the only options God called us to go. Through His words this morning, i was reminded about Abraham. Coincidence? i don think so. I always asked, why did those who were intending to leave seem to use the same story to indicate firmly that they have to leave their home and go to a foreign place? Why God always use the same story. It made me doubt that anyone who happened to read this can say that they're leaving on God's purpose. His desires and mindset is way beyond ours....how are we ever going to find out then?A lot of times, i was reminded " He the Spirit of truth will make it known to you...again n again. (John 16:14 -15). Sometimes our limitations frustrate us, but that's the "key" isn't it?

No. i was wrong bout my doubt.  i was ..really. Not unless they are trusting the Spirit of truth to guide them. God's words are very much alive. i remember i wrote this in my devotional notes one day about the Holy Spirit's lesson plan. The ways of God are a mystery to man. Only when we have accepted the salvation from Jesus Christ and received the Holy Spirit can we begin to understand. The Spirit uses certain methods to open our minds and fill our hearts with godly wisdom.

1. Revelation - the truth given by the Lord that cannot be obtained in any other way. The scriptures are the most obvious example. Anyone can read God's words and even understand some portions, but only a Spirit-filled believer can begin to grasp the layers of meaning within the Bible.
2. Illumination - We use this word to describe the amazing moment when the Holy Spirit lights up our minds so that we understand God's Word. If the Bible were any book, we would be able to read it a few times and know thoroughly. But the Lord reveals ever-deeper truths about Himself as we mature our faith (Eph1:18).
3. Remembrance - The Holy Spirit reminds us of godly principles or biblical passages when we need them. He helped the gospel writers recall events and Jesus' words many years after the fact. And He does the same for us when we could use some encouragement, inspiration or comfort.
The Holy spirit illuminates believers' minds so that they can recognize and comprehend God's revelation. When we memorize scriptures and store up biblical insights, the Holy spirit can dip into the "reservoir" to bring needed wisdom to our memory.

Moving ahead in the midst of uncertainty
is a pain and obedience meant saying goodbye to relationships and things dear to me. yes...separation is oftentimes a part of our development as Christians. Before we can take on something new, the Lord may ask us to let go of something we already have. In Genesis 12:1-3 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." Not only u'll be blessed, but you will be a blessing to others including ur workmates, new friends, ur new family, new church etc.

Moving ahead in the midst of uncertainty can be another aspect of following the Lord. Abraham was told to travel without knowing his destination. Try to imagine explaining to friends that you're moving away but have no idea where you're going. This lack of detail did not stop Abraham. Unwavering trust in his heavenly Father enabled him to answer the divine call wholeheartedly-eventhough specific details were lacking. Abraham was spiritually ready to answer affirmatively when God called.

Following God requires living by faith. That means trusting Holy Spirit to guide us when we don't see how all the pieces fit together; believing that God always works for our good and His glory and desiring to please our Father.

I pray and hope, when i reach the destination He desires, not only those leaving with me wil be blessed, but we will be a blessings to many. - 孩子的禱告.

孩子的禱告

//演唱 : 林恩德

[info]nuninoo_yeu
“没有解决不了的问题, 只有解决不了问题的人, 但是有解决一切问题的全能上帝!"

God doesn't want to transform just a little bit of our lives and then walk away. In fact He so delights in His children that He desires to renovate our hearts and mind completely, conforming us to the image of His son, Jesus Christ. God is faithful to complete what He has started in your life. Phllipians 1:6 " He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."
He loves us and has a plan so unique and amazing for us that it is beyond our imagination. If God has something that is incredible for us, why settle for anything else? Why doubt in Him?

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thought. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Unclogging Drains
[info]nuninoo_yeu
Bathtub clogged drain is a pain. Build up of thin hair and scuzzy soap could create such annoying issue. That's why they say you should always remove the remaining hairs from the drain hole each time.... ..... nah, can't be bothered.

So i finally decided to drive all the way to the Hornby's Pak N Sav to get a bottle of Easy Off BAM!! ( "You're about to see the most unbelievable Ad ever"). Let's see how amazing this chemical was.... guess what? No difference.. except whiter and cleaner bathtub.. so i had to use a plunger and i managed to pull out some hair and scuzzy soap.  GUess what again? BLOCKED STILL....I"m gonna kill YOU, the most annoying blocked drain ever!!?!!

calm down...tho ur hands smell like bleach..

sigh...Do u have clogged drains in your life right now? Have you been ignoring it cause you can't be bothered or you're scared or simply... lazy? I wish unclogging drains in our lives is so much easier..... but no, cos tat's the life God intended us to live in. Not just unclogging drains, but acknowledging the purpose of it.

Press On

Romans 6:16 says we are the slaves of the one whom we obey - slaves of either sin or obedience to the Lord. Because every human is born with a fallen nature, being the master of our own lives is the same as being enslaved to sin.

Prescription to this sickness or unhealthy situation - submission to Him. But we may reason this way: If i give the Lord control, then I lose it-and that's scary. God could lead me somewhere I don't want to go. When fear seeps into our heart, stop and consider the Lord's character and motive: He is Holy and sinless; He has infinite wisdom, perfect knowledge and an eternal perspective; He loves you and has the power to work all things for your good (Rom8:28). Now compare your credentials to His. Who do you think would make a better master of your life? makes sense isn't it? sadly, a lot of time we don't come into our senses when it's necessary. hmm... sth for me to ponder upon..

If the Lord is to have full authority, all rival rulers must be dethroned. The Spirit will not fill believers who tolerate sin in their lives. The grace of God covers the guilt of our transgressions, but it cannot be used to excuse continued obedience (Rom6:1). It's our responsibility as the children of God to be obedience, not gratifying a favor for God.

We grieve the Spirit by saying yes to sin and stifle Him by saying no to God.

Do not be discouraged by the magnitude of this call to submission. Of course, we can't attain sinless perfection on earth, but with each step of obedience, sin's hold will lessen. Press on - you'll soon begin to live in the freedom of enslavement to the most amazing Master you've ever known.

"It'd be hubris for us to think that we can make any decisions that are God's to make".
